Big 11

Wow it's hard to believe she just had her 11th birthday party.  I'm not sure I'm ready for her to be 11, but we march on.  We had lots of scrambling because we were shooting for a party at the theater but apparently nothing she had an interest in seeing was in the theaters so we improvised and Movie Minion Party at home was what we went for.

I made up her invitations to look like minions but replaced the "G" with "K".
I made minion cups the blue ones look like the purple minions.  And the cupcakes have cookies I made look like minions.  I also had minion mix, and popcorn and m&m's for movie snacks.

Kyrie's cupcake with her 11 candles.
I made minion lanterns with some yellow lanterns we found at Christmas Tree shop.  I put chem lights in them so they glowed too.
They now live in Kyrie's room she loved them so much.
I added goggles to the lemonade so it too looked like a minion.
The girls watched the Minion movie with two minions I made and the sign I made to take pictures with them.
The door to the house again with a K instead of a G.
 The Minion sign.

March One Little Word Project

So when I first saw our assignment for March I was completely out of my comfort zone and wasn't even sure of doing the assignment.  But I sucked it up picked up some canvas, grabbed a shade of teal paint, found some glitter letters to spell out Happy, and saw this super cute Zebra and Turtle.  So we paid for the stuff and I brought it home and painted my canvas.  Then the hard part came what did I want to be on my board, what is my happy.  What things will help me stay focused on that.  I instantly knew I needed read, wine, dance, music, something to do with travel and crafting.  Those are my happy place outside of people.  So I flipped through a bunch of magazines and found scrap, find new roads, really good read and creativity begins at home.  So I cut them out and added them to my pile.  I debated cutting out Green Day from one of the booklets from my CD's and finally just did it, I cut the Scentsy symbol off a old catalog and found a family picture too.  Then I went hunting through my stash of supplies and found one of the stars I had left from when Seth was deployed and knew I had to add it.  Then I pulled out the little drawer I have all of my words, sayings and quotes in and found sing, curls, Always, travel, pet, hope, imagine, church,  dance, laughter, goals, experience, love, on the road, cherish the moments, friends are life's treasures, follow your heart and I may no be there yet but I'm closer than I was yesterday.  I also pulled out two blank things and wrote Read and Wine on them.  The Zebra is for  Kyrie and the Turtle is of course for Zee.   And the more I stare at it the more I see my Happy in it.

Sesame Street Card

The girls got invited to a friends birthday party.  He will be 2 but they love hanging out with him so we got a gift and then I went to pick out a card and was blown away by the prices on kids birthday cards.  Seriously who spends anywhere from $5.00 to $6.00 for one birthday card.  I can buy a whole pack of blank cards for $5.00.  So I decided I would make his card instead of dropping a fortune paying for one.
So this is what I came up with.  It did make me wish I had the Sesame Street Cartridge but what use would it be for one card so I made some circles, and threw on some googly eyes and made some mouths out of circles I cut in half and made a beak out of two circles I glued together and card done.  I had a couple stickers and put them on the envelope and the card cost me nothing except things I had on hand instead of paying $5.00 for a card.  Plus he is two he will love that the eyes move and hopefully that it is Sesame Street that he loves.

Friends Books

So it's been a long time and I have had people to add since before we left Texas but aside from printing up some more pictures I got the pages made up for the girls Friends books.           I now need to hunt down more pages the next time I am out at A. C. Moore because I had to take pages out of Zee's book to add to Kyrie's book.  I need to put them in order because they are just in there however I thought of who needed to be next.  But it felt nice to sit and scrap even if it was only small 8 X 8 pages.  This is the most I have done in awhile and with ripping cd's into I-Tunes to put on Kyrie's new I-Pod she is getting for her birthday I had a lot of sitting in front of the computer time on my hands.  So I pulled them out and got to it.  I also took down all my albums and sorted through them to see where I stopped on which ones and what all I have to add, and I found some empty ones.  I know empty ones it is like Christmas every time I find an empty one around the house.  I still can't find some pictures I am looking for which started the album searching to begin with but I found an empty photo album and a bunch of pictures that have already been scrapped that I can put away so I have more room for when I have to order the pictures I need to be caught up to this year.

2013 Crafty Catch Up

So I was crafty when I could be the end of the year.  I got some invitations made for Church for a Pumpkin Party in October.  I brought in some Pumpkin cakes for the girls classrooms and I made up some cupcakes for special trick or treaters.

I made myself some motivation jars, and made each of the girls a good behavior jar.

I made two Turkey's for the table at Thanksgiving.  I put napkins in them and they made great decorations for the table.  I also made a Turkey pictionary game for the kids to play.

I drew up trees and cut out leaves for the girls to have Thankful trees.  It went over great and we will be repeating it next year.

I made a snowman out of bottle caps and painted a ton of caps for the craft afternoon at school.

And I made Christmas cards 20 a month from January through November.  It kept me busy and I decided this year to take a different option but I did it.

Back to School Bags for Teachers

The girls picked out some things to give to the Teachers they have this year at Back to School/Meet the Teacher Night.  Kyrie's is the 27th and Zee's the 28th.  So I decorated a bag for each teacher to put the things the girls picked out in.

Birthday Anniversary Binder

I used to have a store bought one until two little girls got to it.  I made it work even though it was colored on and they had ripped out February.  Well I finally decided enough was enough and decided to make one.  I got a binder and covered it in paper and attached a ribbon to close the thing up.  Then I got 6 dividers covered them in patterned paper and made a pocket for each side.  I then stamped the month on each pocket and did up lines for each day of the month.  I also decorated each one with stickers.  Then I added all the birthdays and anniversaries into it and I have my binder.
