Valentine's Boxes

 So the girls and I made Valentine's boxes today.  I did the gluing with the hot glue gun for Kyrie and she did all the rest.  She decided on a Zebra (no big surprise there) and named her Spot.  I did paint the letters.  Zee helped me put the paper on her Turtle's face and decorated the turtle and put down the first coat of paper we used. The letters are wood letters I painted.

Zee named her Turtle Shelly after the pet turtle we had in Texas Sheldon "Shelly" Cooper.  Zee just went with Shelly.  We put down a layer of paper on the box then used Cookie Dough Duct Tape on top of that.  We used paper from the DCWV Animal Safari Stack for the face and tail.  I drew the circles on with sharpie and stencils.  The Zee added all the glitter things.  I painted up McKenzie in Purple and Shelly in green and hot glued them on a side of the turtle.  Zee stuck on the googly eyes, and button nose and mouth using pop dots.  I cut the ears out of cardboard and then glued the green paper to them and BOOM Shelly the Valentine's box. 

    Kyrie's box we covered in Zebra duct tape I had gotten for Christmas.  It wasn't enough to do the whole box but thankfully I had Zebra paper left over from her birthday stuff last year so we modge podged that on.  She used buttons for the eyes with two different glitter glues for the inside part (silver and pink) and then pink buttons for the mouth.  She added all the glitter things for decorations.  I added cardboard ears that I hot glued on and for the tail her grandmother crocheted the tail and we taped it inside.  The Boom Spots the Zebra Valentine box is done.

Catch up Time

I'M CAUGHT UP TO MAINE FOR BOTH GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel so awful I have never been this far behind before.  I do know a major picture print is in my future but I have two baby books to knock out for friends one boy (it will be a nice switch from all the girl I do) and one girl.  Then I have a HAWAII book to do for a friend.  So I will get a nice break from the girls to work on something a little different that always seems to kick my crafty butt in gear.  The heat hasn't helped I don't want to sit down here when it's so hot and try and craft.  Who knew the sweat you could work up from being so creative.    Kyrie had her first dance recital so I made her an ATC and bouquet holder for her flowers.  I also got Zee's room all painted so it's now green and purple sponged. 

Party Prep Means Craft Time

So it's Party day today and this week I have been working on the banner, a poster, star labels and birthday cards.

A Little Crafty

I took off Kyrie's light switch and covered it in peace sign paper and put mod podge on it then once it dried I stuck it back up on her wall

Vinyl for Kyrie's room

I cut out a guitar, stars, a skull, the peace symbol, the heart and peace love pirate for Kyrie's room.  We finally have it finished (well the closet needs to be organized) but that's another story.  I got all the K's painted and hung around her room.  Now we wait for her to come home and let us know what she thinks.

These are the 15 pages I got done for the Crop I went to.  I can't wait for the next one.

Scrapping heals the soul

So I seriously needed some scrap time my body needed that calmness it goes into when I scrap.  I even paper pieced two penguins.  No Bugzy for me I cut those bad boys out by hand just to have more of a crafty release.

Well that's it for today but at least I got to do a page and tomorrow we paint so it will be a crafty release there too because we are sponging it all.
